No
matter how much you anticipate moving into your dream home, it’s
difficult not to dread Moving Day.
You’ve planned, prepared and packed, and now you’re on the
homestretch. With a little more coordination and cooperation, you’ll
be out of your old house and into your new home before you know it.
Here are few last-minute tips to help you relax and get through the
day.
Make way for movers
Put all of the boxes in a room near the front door. Clear a path for
people to carry heavy furniture.
Arrange babysitting
The final move may be less stressful if you have a trusted friend or
family member watch your little ones.
Feed the forces
Moving is hard work. Have plenty of snacks on hand. And don’t forget
the water, especially if it’s a hot day.
Finish up
before leaving your old home, check every room, closet and cabinet
one last time. Make sure everything is loaded. Leave a note with
your new address in the house so future occupants can forward any
stray mail.
